Prime Minister Gaston Browne has ruled out gang involvement in the killings of two teenagers in Villa, following the completion of a coroner's inquest into the double murder.
According to Antigua News Room, Browne confirmed he has received a briefing on the inquest findings, but said further details would be released once police issue their official update.
The victims — Omarie Lewis, 17, and Brianna Clarke, 18 — were discovered outside their Villa residence after reports of gunfire late one morning approximately two weeks ago. Medical personnel confirmed both teenagers had died shortly after being found.
Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the killings. Two men, aged 19 and 24, remain in custody as persons of interest in connection with the case.
Multiple units were deployed to the scene following the incident, including homicide investigators and forensic teams tasked with processing the area for evidence.
Police have renewed their appeal for public assistance as the investigation continues, urging anyone with relevant information to contact the Criminal Investigations Department or to reach out anonymously through the Crimestoppers line.
