Prime Minister Gaston Browne has pledged that his administration will not abuse its authority should the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party secure all 17 seats in the upcoming general election.
According to Antigua News Room, Mr. Browne made the commitment while speaking to reporters following his nomination on Monday. He acknowledged that internal polling points to a possible landslide victory, but was firm in his assurance that responsible leadership would remain a cornerstone of his government.
The Prime Minister's remarks come as the ABLP heads into the election with strong momentum, according to internal projections cited by Antigua News Room. Despite the prospect of an overwhelming parliamentary majority, Mr. Browne sought to reassure the public that his party would not wield such a mandate irresponsibly.
