The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party has expressed sincere condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones of Comrade Philbert Mason, following his passing. According to Antigua News Room, Mason was widely regarded as one of the nation's most iconic and prolific meteorologists.

Mason's outstanding contributions to nation-building earned him national recognition at the 1995 National Awards Ceremony, where he was honoured for his role in shaping modern Antigua and Barbuda.

Beyond his distinguished professional career, Mason was a loyal and steadfast Labour Party stalwart. He served with distinction as Second Vice Chairman of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party over several terms, remaining deeply committed to the advancement of the Party and the development of the nation.

Described as a strategist, mentor, entrepreneur, and patriot, Mason gave generously of his time, wisdom, and talent. Over the years, he guided and encouraged many candidates, offering counsel grounded in experience, loyalty, and an unwavering belief in strong governance and national progress.

The ABLP said it feels a deep sense of sorrow at the loss of such a distinguished comrade. The Party added that his memory will forever be etched in the annals of Labour history, and that his legacy of service, dedication, and nation-building will continue to inspire generations to come.
