Nigerian carrier Air Peace is set to begin scheduled service connecting Antigua and Barbuda with Lagos later this month, marking a significant new air link between the Caribbean and West Africa. According to Antigua News Room, the flights are scheduled to launch on May 25 and will operate twice monthly, with a stop in Barbados.
The route will offer travellers a direct connection between Antigua and Nigeria for the first time in recent years, opening a corridor that has long been absent from regional aviation schedules.
Colin James, Chief Executive Officer of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, said the new service supports efforts to broaden the country's tourism markets and improve international access beyond traditional visitor sources.
Officials have noted that the flights could also stimulate greater business activity, tourism growth, and cultural ties between the Caribbean and Africa, as regional destinations seek new opportunities in overseas markets.
Under the proposed schedule, flights will depart Antigua at 9 a.m., continuing through Barbados before arriving in Lagos the following day. The return service will follow the same routing back to Antigua.
Tickets for the route are already available through Air Peace's online booking platform.
