Passengers travelling between the Caribbean and Europe are set to benefit from improved connectivity following the signing of a new interline agreement between LIAT (2020) Limited and Air Caraïbes, according to Antigua.news.

The agreement takes effect on June 1, 2026, and will allow travellers to book flights across both airlines' networks on a single ticket. The arrangement eliminates the need to purchase separate fares for connecting journeys, streamlining the overall travel experience.

Passengers will also be able to check baggage through to their final destination under the deal, removing the inconvenience of reclaiming and rechecking luggage during transit.

LIAT Air, headquartered in Antigua, serves destinations throughout the Eastern Caribbean. Air Caraïbes operates flights linking the French Caribbean territories of Guadeloupe, Martinique and French Guiana, as well as long-haul services to Paris.

The two carriers said the partnership is designed to strengthen regional connectivity and provide passengers with access to a wider range of destinations. The agreement is also expected to support tourism, business travel and economic activity across the region by improving travel links between the Caribbean and Europe.

By combining their networks, the airlines aim to offer more convenient travel options for residents, visitors and members of the Caribbean diaspora seeking smoother connections between islands and international destinations.

Tickets under the new interline arrangement will be available through travel agents and global distribution systems beginning June 1.

The partnership represents another step in LIAT's broader efforts to expand its reach and rebuild its regional network as the airline continues its post-restructuring growth.
