Antigua and Barbuda controls an ocean space almost eleven times larger than its landmass, yet much of that vast resource remains untapped, a senior Blue Economy official has said.

According to Antigua Observer, Senior Operations and Policy Manager Marver Woodley made the observation as the Department of the Blue Economy marked World Ocean Day on Monday. Woodley's remarks underscored the significant, largely unrealised potential that lies within the twin-island nation's maritime territory.

The occasion also saw the department direct its focus toward the next generation, with educational outreach targeting schoolchildren as part of efforts to raise awareness about the Blue Economy and the opportunities it presents for Antigua and Barbuda's future.
