Minister of Social and Urban Transformation Rawdon Turner and Minister of State Kiz Johnson met Tuesday with representatives of the Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI) to explore strategic collaboration opportunities ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

According to Antigua Observer, the meeting was facilitated by Minister of State Johnson and focused on advancing Antigua and Barbuda's sustainable development agenda. A release from Minister Turner's ministry confirmed the engagement took place.

The discussions centered on identifying areas where the SMI — an initiative dedicated to accelerating the transition to a sustainable global economy — could partner with the Antiguan government in meaningful ways ahead of CHOGM 2026, which Antigua and Barbuda is set to host.
