More than six weeks after Antigua and Barbuda's general election, many public servants say they have yet to receive outstanding back pay that emerged as a significant issue during the campaign. According to Antigua Observer, the matter became a focal point in the lead-up to the April 30 poll.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne repeatedly assured public sector workers of the payments during the campaign period, as reported by Antigua Observer. However, those assurances have not yet translated into action for many of the workers affected.

The back pay dispute had been among the more prominent issues raised by public servants ahead of the vote, drawing considerable attention from both workers and political observers. With more than six weeks now elapsed since election day, affected employees continue to wait for resolution.

No official timeline for the disbursement of the outstanding payments has been publicly confirmed.
