The Census Office has intensified field operations for the 2025 Population and Housing Census, deploying a second cohort of enumerators beginning Monday, June 15, according to Antigua News Room.
Residents in and around the Greenbay Primary School community can expect to see enumerators conducting household and business interviews starting this week. The expanded deployment marks a significant step forward in completing the national exercise.
Field operations had been temporarily suspended during the recent General Elections in Antigua and Barbuda but have since resumed. The addition of new personnel signals renewed momentum as the Census Office works to complete its count.
The Population and Housing Census is a critical national undertaking. The data collected informs government policy, national development planning, and the allocation of resources across key sectors including health, education, housing, employment, and infrastructure. Accurate census figures ensure that decisions affecting communities rest on reliable, up-to-date information.
The Census Office is urging all residents to cooperate fully with enumerators and provide accurate responses. All information collected is treated with strict confidentiality and is protected under the Statistics Act. Individual responses will not be disclosed to any unauthorized person or organisation.
Residents can identify legitimate enumerators by their official Census vests and photo identification cards issued by the Census Office. Enumerators will also carry a tablet, a Census bag, and an authorisation letter.
Throughout the coming week, Census officials will appear across various media outlets in Antigua and Barbuda as part of a public education and sensitisation campaign. These engagements will give residents the opportunity to learn more about the census process, ask questions, and receive progress updates.
The 2025 Population and Housing Census is conducted under the theme: "Mapping the Present, Shaping the Future."
