A shop owner in All Saints Village has become the latest victim of a gold chain snatching, with authorities now investigating the brazen daylight robbery. According to Antigua Observer, CCTV footage circulating on social media captured the moment a young man ripped the gold chain from around the woman's neck while she was serving him at the counter.
The victim, caught completely off-guard by the attack, reached for a cutlass in an attempt to defend herself following the theft. The incident adds to what appears to be a troubling pattern of jewelry-snatching crimes in the area.
As reported by Antigua Observer, the investigation into the incident is currently underway. Authorities have not yet announced any arrests in connection with the case.
