A 21-year-old Nut Grove man is facing multiple criminal charges following an alleged theft from a parked vehicle in the Cashew Hill area, according to Antigua.news.

Police have charged Dejontè Buckley with larceny, assault and battery, making use of threatening language, and possession of an imitation firearm.

As reported by Antigua.news, the incident took place on Tuesday, June 16, when Buckley allegedly entered a vehicle belonging to a Cassada Gardens resident and stole several personal items. The stolen property included two wallets, cash, a white AirPods case, identification cards, bank cards, and other personal documents, with a total estimated value of approximately EC$3,716.

Officers subsequently apprehended Buckley and took him into custody. During the investigation, police recovered several items from him, including a ski mask and an imitation firearm.

Law enforcement officials are urging motorists to secure their vehicles and avoid leaving valuables unattended, warning that such lapses create opportunities for theft.

Investigations are ongoing. Police are appealing to anyone with information relevant to the case to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or 462-3914, the Grays Farm Police Station, or Crime Stoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).

Buckley is expected to appear before the court to answer the charges.
