Air quality across Antigua and Barbuda remains within the good range, with only minimal concentrations of Saharan dust currently affecting the twin-island nation, according to Antigua News Room, citing the Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service.

The Meteorological Service issued a Saharan Dust Air Quality Bulletin at 12:15 p.m. on June 19, reporting an Air Quality Index (AQI) between 20 and 40 and maintaining an Alert Level I designation.

The bulletin confirmed that concentrations of particulate matter — including PM2.5 and PM10 — are minimal and that no action is required from the general public. Health officials reported no expected health implications under current conditions.

Despite the overall safe air quality rating, the Meteorological Service cautioned that certain groups remain more vulnerable to fluctuations in air quality. These include people living with respiratory or heart disease, older adults, and children.

The agency urged residents to continue monitoring updates through its official communication channels, including its website and social media platforms, noting that conditions can change. The bulletin was issued by Meteorologist Dale Destin.
