Representatives from three key institutions have joined forces in a regional effort to strengthen defences against cyber-enabled fraud and other emerging financial crime threats.
According to Antigua Observer, the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP), the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda (RPFAB), and the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) took part in the collaborative initiative, which focused on building awareness and resilience across the region.
The initiative formed part of a broader regional programme, bringing together agencies whose combined mandates span law enforcement, financial regulation, and anti-money laundering oversight. The participation of all three bodies signals a coordinated approach to tackling financial crimes that increasingly transcend national borders and traditional enforcement boundaries.
Cyber-enabled fraud has emerged as a growing concern across the Eastern Caribbean, with criminal actors exploiting digital channels to circumvent financial safeguards. Initiatives of this kind are designed to ensure that frontline agencies remain equipped to identify and respond to evolving threats.
