The Government of Antigua and Barbuda has secured funding through the Green Climate Fund to renovate or rebuild ten health clinics across the twin-island nation, according to Antigua Observer. However, access to the funds has been delayed by an extensive pre-qualification process required by the donor agency.
Minister of Health Michael Joseph confirmed that the funding was allocated through the Green Climate Fund, as reported by Antigua Observer. The pre-qualification requirements imposed by the fund have slowed the government's ability to move forward with the clinic upgrades.
The renovation and rebuilding initiative is expected to improve healthcare infrastructure across Antigua and Barbuda once the necessary qualifications are met and funds are disbursed.
