The Ecclesiastical Commission of Antigua and Barbuda and the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus (UWIFIC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, marking a significant step toward advancing theological and ministerial education across the Caribbean.

The agreement, formalised on Thursday, launches the Caribbean Theology, Ministry, and Public Life Lifelong Learning Series through UWI's Lifelong Learning Unit. The series is designed to offer clergy, lay leaders, and other participants structured opportunities for continued education and professional development at the intersection of faith, ministry, and public life.

UWIFIC announced the partnership in a press release, signalling the institution's commitment to expanding its community engagement and lifelong learning offerings beyond traditional academic programmes.

The collaboration brings together two prominent institutions — one rooted in religious leadership and the other in higher education — to address what both parties view as a growing need for informed, theologically grounded engagement in Caribbean public life.
