Customers of the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) are being advised to expect temporary service disruptions this week as the national Operation Stronghold security exercise restricts access to parts of St John's. According to Antigua News Room, APUA has outlined a series of adjustments to ensure continued service delivery during the exercise.

Pedestrian access along High Street will be restricted on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., with traffic in the designated security zone also limited under measures enforced by the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda. Additionally, the authority's Independence Avenue Business Centre will operate on revised hours, opening from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Customers can still make payments at all other APUA locations and inet stores, which will remain open during normal hours. The APUA Mobile Bus will also be deployed at the former Head Office at Cassada Gardens, offering customer services from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

APUA is encouraging customers to use its online portal, My inet Home, online banking services, credit unions, and the My inet mobile app to pay bills and access services remotely.

Operation Stronghold is part of Antigua and Barbuda's preparations for hosting the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) later this year. The exercise is designed to test the country's security readiness and involves temporary road closures and restricted access across sections of the capital.

APUA thanked customers for their patience and cooperation during the exercise.
