A composed knock of 44 not out from Terez Parker steered Female Flyers to a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Survivors in the female division of the Antigua and Barbuda Softball Cricket Association (ABSCA) 20 Overs Competition on Wednesday, according to Antigua Observer.
The match was played at the Clare Hall playing field, where Parker received strong support from Mauveuhl Simpson, who contributed 20 runs. Female Flyers reached their target of 99 for three in 17.1 overs. Desrie Welch, Gale Lee, and Gace Persaud each claimed one wicket for the victors.
Batting first, Survivors posted 98 for five in their allotted 20 overs. Persaud top-scored with 27 while Joan Samuel added 20. Gaynel Ogarro was the standout bowler for Female Flyers, claiming two wickets for 22 runs. Parker was named Player of the Match.
Also on Wednesday, Strictly Business defeated Buckleys 3Js by two wickets in the men's division. Batting first, 3Js were bowled out for 82 in 18.1 overs, with George Elvin top-scoring on 24. Kadeem Josiah (2/9), Shaquan Reifer (2/17), and Ashfield Weatherhead (2/24) each took two wickets for Strictly Business.
In reply, Strictly Business reached their target of 83 for eight in 15.2 overs. Clinton Benjamin led the scoring with 19 runs while Jevon Howel contributed 17. Charanlall Ramjohn was the pick of the 3Js bowlers, claiming three wickets for 20 runs in four overs.
