In an official statement, the hospital expressed condolences to the child's family. "We recognize that this is an incredibly difficult time for the child's family, and we extend our deepest sympathies to them as they grieve this heartbreaking loss," the statement read.
While the investigation is ongoing, SLBMC said it is unable to disclose specific clinical details, citing the need to protect patient confidentiality and preserve the integrity of the review process.
The medical centre appealed for public patience as it works through the matter. "We appreciate the public's understanding as we continue to handle this matter with the care, sensitivity, and professionalism it deserves," the statement added.
